EXCITING 2007 AHEAD FOR THE LOFTE!
The annual meeting of the Lofte Association, Inc. was held earlier this month. It was a great opportunity for the Lofte's Board and Artistic Director to share news about the results of 2006, thank the many volunteers and patrons for their support and to announce plans for the 2007 season.
2006 was a great success with well over 13,000 people attending Lofte productions and special events. More than 2,000 people purchased season tickets last year. 2007 is already off to a great start with the "Branson on the Road" show performing to more than 600 people and the first show, a special production with a guest director has already been cast and is in rehearsals.
Kevin Colbert thanked everyone who attended the meeting and noted that in the Lofte's first 30 years a total of 621 different actors have tread the Lofte boards and played to more than a quarter of a million Lofte theatre-goers. With the shows he announced for 2007 those numbers will continue to grow! Here's the list of shows -- more information on each show is available here. You won't want to miss a one!

WILLIAM M. COVER, II TO DIRECT FIRST 2007 LOFTE PRODUCTION
Many Lofte patrons know Will Cover as a talented actor, but many are probably not aware of his directing abilities. His Lofte directorial debut will open on April 13 thorugh April 29, Camping with Henry & Tom. The show is a funny, fact-based but fictional account of a camping trip with Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Warren Harding.
When you're President, there's no such thing as a free ride. Warren Harding knew it when he accepted Henry Ford's invitatino to jo in him and Thomas Edison on their annual camping trip. When the three men find themselves stranded in the woods -- Ford's Model T having hit a deer and crashed into a tree -- the niceties are brushed aside and the power struggle begins.
The cast includes Lofte veterans Larry Bauers (Thomas Edison), Bob Pinkerton (Henry Ford), and Jamion Biesterfeld (secret service agent Col. Starling). Newcomer Dave Shamblin rounds out the cast as Warren Harding. Get your tickets now -- 402-234-2553.
