For the first time, the Lofte is partnering with Slattery Vintage Estates to create a “Sweetheart” event. Starting at 6:30pm in the Lofte’s lobby, Slattery Estates will host a wine tasting event. For a small fee, you can sample some of Nebraska’s premier wines and take home the glass! At 7:30pm ShinSings Orchestra will take the stage. This Sinatra-style group specializes in big band, swing and classic pop songs. Members of the band boast performances with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Omaha Jazz Orchestra and the George Walker Trio. Tickets to the event are $20 and include unlimited hors d’oeuvres. Wine is priced separately. www.ShinSings.com

Take 60 local children, give them one week of rehearsals and turn them loose on the Lofte stage. The result is a wonderfully entertaining and always adorable fairy tale! The citizens of Hamelin town are overrun with rats and they call on the Pied Piper to save them from the troublesome creatures. The Mayor's son and daughter and the Cooks also join in the endeavor.
